Texlab House is right on the corner of Purvadeep Society, near the C.T.M. Mills in Amraiwadi. Being so close to the National Highway 8 means there’s a constant sound of trucks and traffic, but you get used to it after a while. We’ve been operating in Ahmedabad for a long time. Our work is mostly industrial, dealing with the kind of equipment and testing that happens in the textile world. The building is a bit of a landmark for us, and we’ve filled it with all sorts of machinery and testing tools over the years. It’s not a clean, polished environment—it’s a working shop. There’s usually dust from the fabrics or the smell of metal in the air. We don’t have any slick salespeople. Most of us are technicians or people who have spent their whole lives around factories. We know how things are supposed to run and what happens when they don't. Our days are pretty straightforward. We show up, check the schedule, and get to work on whatever needs testing or building. Amraiwadi is a busy industrial hub, so we fit right in with the rest of the businesses around here. We don't spend money on fancy signs or advertising. Word of mouth usually brings people to our door. We just focus on getting the measurements right and making sure the equipment is solid. It’s gritty work, but it’s what we know how to do best here in this corner of Ahmedabad.
