Shree Chamunda Gears Co.

Our shop, Shree Chamunda Gears Co., sits at F-71/76 in the Bhagirath Industrial Estate 4. We are tucked away in the Swastik Mill Compound, right across from Jawahanagar in the Amraiwadi area. If you come by, you’ll hear the clinking of metal and the hum of the gear-cutting machines before you even see us. This place is old-school. There’s oil on the floor and the smell of grease is everywhere, but that’s how a gear shop should be. We don't use fancy computers for everything; a lot of it is still done by hand and with old machines that have been around longer than some of the staff. We take pride in the fact that we can fix things that newer places won't touch. It’s a dusty, loud environment, but we’ve grown to love it over the years. The compound can get pretty crowded with delivery vans and motorcycles, so parking is always a bit of a puzzle. We have a small table in the back where we keep the ledger and the phone. It’s usually covered in blueprints or scraps of paper with measurements scribbled on them. We don't put on any acts here. If you want to talk about gears, we’re your people. If you want a fancy office with air conditioning, you’re in the wrong place. We just keep the wheels turning, literally, every day from morning until the lights go out.
