Gujarat Steel

We spend most of our time here at the Shakriben Estate handling various types of steel. It gets pretty loud when the trucks arrive and the loading starts. It’s not a fancy place but we’ve been in this spot near Revabhai Estate Road for a while now. Amraiwadi is always busy and that suits us just fine. You’ll usually see a lot of metal piled up around the yard. Sometimes the dust is a bit much but we just keep moving. People come by when they need parts for building or repairs. We don't spend much time on the computer because there's always something to move or sort outside. It's hot in the summer under the tin roof but that’s just how it goes in Ctm. Most of our day is just checking the weight of things and making sure the orders are ready to go. We keep a small office for the papers but most of the work happens right there on the floor. It’s hard work and our hands are usually dirty by noon. We know the neighbors around the estate and the tea stall nearby is where we usually end up during breaks. There isn’t much to say other than we deal with steel every day. We’ve seen the area change a lot over the years but our spot stays pretty much the same. If you are looking for us, look for the big stacks of beams near the road. We stay open until the last truck leaves the gate.
