Brd Packaging Industries

Down at Bhagirath Industrial Estate-1, near Swastik Textile in Amraiwadi, is where Brd Packaging Industries is located. We occupy No. 42. It’s an industrial area, so there’s always noise from machines and trucks moving about all day long. We handle packaging stuff here. It’s dusty work sometimes, but we get it done. The space is filled with boxes and materials for making different kinds of containers. We spend most of our day on our feet. Sometimes the machines act up and we have to fix them ourselves, which takes a lot of time. We aren’t a huge corporation, just a few of us making sure orders go out on time. The neighbors are other factories, so we all know the struggle of the power cuts or the summer heat. We usually start very early in the morning before it gets too hot to work comfortably. Lunch is usually eaten together in the corner where there's a bit of shade. It’s straightforward work. We don't have any fancy mission statements or anything like that. We just make the packaging and hope it works for whoever bought it. Being in Amraiwadi means we are close to a lot of other businesses, which makes things easier for getting our own supplies. It’s a steady life and we’ve grown used to the rhythm of the industrial estate. We don't change much, just keep making boxes and bags as needed. Most days we are just happy to get through the orders without any big breakdowns or delays.
