Our office is tucked away on the third floor of Vrudavan Apartment. If you are walking down Panchvati 1st Lane in the Ambawadi area, you might actually miss the building because it looks like any other residential block. We like it that way because it is a bit quieter than being right on the main commercial drag. Being on the third floor means we get our exercise on the stairs when the elevator is acting up, which happens more than we would like. The space itself is pretty crowded with desks, computers, and stacks of export documents that seem to grow every time we turn around. We have been here for a good number of years and most of the neighbors know us by now. It’s a simple setup with no big lobby or fancy reception desk. You just walk through the door and you’re right in the middle of where we work. We spend the bulk of our day tracking shipments and talking to folks at the port. In the late afternoons, the light hits the windows just right, though it can get a bit warm inside. We usually keep a pot of tea going in the corner for anyone who needs a break. It is not a flashy place at all, just a workspace where we try to stay organized and keep the business moving forward one day at a time.
