Purvee Yoga Studio

Our little yoga space is over at the Sumudhur 2 Flats. It’s the C-304 unit. If you know where the BSNL telephone office is near Azad Society, we are right next to that. It’s a pretty quiet neighborhood mostly, though you can hear the traffic from the main road sometimes if the windows are open. We didn't want a big commercial gym feel, so we just used this flat. People come in, kick off their shoes at the door, and grab a spot on the floor. The light is actually quite nice in the mornings. We have a few mats rolled up in the corner for anyone who forgot theirs. It’s not a huge place, so classes stay small which is how we like it. You don't feel like a number here. We mostly do the basic stuff, focusing on breathing and stretching without all the fancy music or expensive gear. Sometimes the neighbor’s dog barks during the final relaxation part, but that is just how life is in an apartment building. Most of the people who come here live in the nearby societies. We start early before the sun gets too hot and then again in the evening after people get off work. The stairs can be a bit much if you are tired, but it’s good for the legs. We just wanted a simple place to practice without any pressure. It’s just a flat with some floor space. It works for us and the people who visit.
