Gayatri Timbers

We’ve been running Gayatri Timbers for quite a while now. Our shop is at No. 4 in the Shri Krishna Complex. If you know the area, it's right opposite those Uco Bank Flats on Bhudarpura Road in Ambavadi. Mostly, we deal with all kinds of wood and timber. It’s a dusty business, honestly. My hands are usually covered in sawdust by noon, but that is just how it goes when you’re moving logs and planks all day. People from around Ambavadi come to us when they are making furniture or fixing up their houses. We don’t have a fancy showroom or anything like that. It is just a straightforward timber yard where we keep our stock piled up. Sometimes the delivery trucks take forever to reach us because the road gets a bit narrow near the flats. We try to keep things organized, though it can get messy during the monsoon season. We know most of the carpenters in this part of town by name. They stop by to check the grain of the wood or just to have a quick cup of tea while we talk about the latest prices. It’s not a complicated life here. We open up early, shift some heavy wood around, and make sure the customers get what they paid for. There isn’t much more to it than that. If you need a specific size or type of timber, we probably have it tucked away somewhere in the back.
