We have been here at Chharodi Farm for a while now. Most mornings start early because the sun gets quite strong here in Ahmedabad by noon. You'll find us mostly on the floor, checking the lathes or looking over some blueprints that have seen better days. It isn’t fancy at Alliance Machines Pvt. Ltd., just a lot of metal and grease. Our guys come in from the nearby villages and we get straight to it. Sometimes the power flutters, but we manage. The workshop isn't quiet, there is always a sound of something being cut or welded. We don't spend much time in the office unless someone needs to sign a delivery note or take a phone call. It’s a bit dusty because of the road outside, but that’s just how it is in this part of Taluka Sanand. We keep the machines moving and make sure everything is bolted down right before it goes out on a truck. It’s hard work, and our hands are rarely clean, but there is a certain rhythm to the day that we’ve all grown used to. Usually, we wrap up around sunset when the air finally starts to cool down a little. We aren't trying to be anything big, just a local spot where things get built properly. If you ever stop by Survey No. 169, you'll probably see us out front moving parts around. It’s just how we run things here day in and day out.
