Ahmedabad Processing Mills

Our place, Ahmedabad Processing Mills, is located within the Rupam Textile Compound. We are at number 60, in a spot that used to be part of the old Diamond Poultry Farm area. It is a bit of an interesting mix around here because you have Yasin Poultry Farm and Suezfarm right nearby too. The Danillmada area is full of these old industrial compounds that have changed a lot over the years. Because of the history of this plot, it doesn't look like a modern factory at all. It is more of a group of older sheds and buildings that we’ve adapted for our mill work. We do all our processing inside one of these large units. The smell from the nearby farms sometimes drifts over when the wind blows the right way, but you stop noticing it after being here for a few hours. There is always someone moving a truck or a trolley through the yard, and the ground gets pretty muddy whenever it rains. We don't have a big fancy sign out front, just our number and name on the door. Inside, it’s mostly just the machinery and a few of us working. We don't spend money on fancy decorations because we’d rather keep the machines running well. There is a real sense of community here, with everyone from the different textile units and the farms knowing each other. It’s a busy, gritty spot, but it’s where we work.
