Adarsh Textiles

If you come down to Hirabhai Market on D.B. Road, you will find us at number 91. Adarsh Textiles is right in the middle of all the noise and the crowd of Kankaria. The market is always busy, and our shop is filled with rolls of cloth stacked all the way to the ceiling. We have been here for years, and the wooden counters are worn smooth from all the fabric we have slid across them. It is a simple place. We don't have air conditioning, just a couple of old ceiling fans that whistle while they spin. We spend most of our time talking to customers who want to see how the thread feels or check the colors in the sunlight outside the door. Sometimes it gets very hot in the afternoon, so we sit on the small stools and wait for the breeze. The floor is usually covered in little bits of thread and cloth cuttings. We know most of the other shopkeepers around here, and we often share tea from the stall at the corner. We don't have a website or anything like that. People just come in, look at what we have, and buy what they need for their own sewing or small shops. It is just an honest way to make a living in a busy market like this one.
