Accountant Yashvant Dave

My office is located in Block Number 47, Room 1123, over in Meghaninagar, Ahmedabad. It’s one of those older housing blocks where everyone knows each other. I’ve been an accountant here for a long time. The room is small, barely enough for my desk, a couple of chairs, and my filing cabinets. It’s not the kind of place you’d find in a business park, but it works for me and my clients. The walls are a bit faded, and the lighting could be better, but I have my trusty lamp for when I’m working late. Meghaninagar is a busy area, so there’s always a lot of dust and noise coming through the window. I spend my hours calculating taxes and organizing financial statements for small businesses and individuals. There is no secretary or digital assistant here, just me and my ledger books. I still like to write things down on paper before I put them into the computer. It feels more real that way. Sometimes the power cuts out and I just sit there in the dark for a minute, taking a break. I get my tea from a small shop downstairs. People come by with their documents in plastic bags, and we sit and go through them one by one. It’s a very basic way of doing things, but it’s been working for years. I don't need much more than a quiet place to think and a good calculator. It keeps me busy and connected to the neighborhood.
