Accountant Dhanam

This accounting practice is run by Mrs. Dhana at M 31 in Bhagat Colony, Maninagar East. Ahmedabad is a big city, but this corner of it feels like a close-knit community. The office is part of the colony, so it’s easy for people to just walk in. It’s a humble space with a few chairs for visitors and a large desk where all the work happens. There are stacks of folders everywhere because there is always more paperwork than there is shelf space. We don't have any fancy glass partitions or expensive carpets. It’s just a plain floor and walls with some old calendars. The sound of the colony is always there in the background, like the vegetable vendors calling out or neighbors chatting. I spend most of my day looking at balance sheets and trying to make sense of different expenses. It’s a lot of staring at rows of numbers until they finally align. We have a small fan that rattles a bit, but it keeps the air moving. Lunch is usually something brought from home, eaten quickly between tasks. It’s a very practical environment. I like being in Maninagar because it’s where I’ve always been, and people trust a familiar face with their finances. It’s not about being a big firm; it’s about doing the work correctly for the people who live nearby. Day in and day out, it’s just about the numbers and the files.
