Our place is at 801 in the Pratiksha Complex, which is right opposite Shalimar Complex near the Mahalaxmi Five Roads in Paldi. If you know that intersection, you know how hectic it gets around rush hour. We spend most of our time out on the road or in the back room surrounded by rolls of bubble wrap and half-empty boxes. Packing and moving is a lot of heavy lifting and sweating. We deal with furniture, kitchen stuff, and those tiny boxes of knick-knacks that people always forget they have until they move. The office is usually a bit of a mess because there’s always packing tape or markers lying around. We’ve got a couple of trucks that we keep running, though they need a bit of work every now and then. It’s a local business and most of the guys live nearby. We don’t have a big corporate setup or anything like that. It is just us and a few helpers when things get really busy. Sometimes a client gets worried about their glass table and we have to spend extra time wrapping it up. We do our best to stay organized, but with so many boxes moving around, it’s a constant battle. We start early in the morning before the sun gets too hot and try to finish before the Paldi traffic gets completely stuck. It’s hard work, but it’s what we know and how we spend our weeks.
