A-one Chemicals

A-one Chemicals is located at 302 Shanti House. We are right opposite the Navrangpura Telephone Exchange, near Madhusudan House. It’s just off C. G. Road, which everyone in Ahmedabad knows is always busy. Finding parking around here is a total headache, so most of us come by rickshaw or scooter. The office is on the third floor. It’s an old building, but it has character. We deal with various chemical products and industrial supplies. My brother and I run the daily operations here. We’ve got a couple of clerks who help with the billing and the registers. The windows look out over the street, so it’s never quiet. You can hear the horns and the shouting from the market all day long. We have a lot of old ledgers because we haven't fully switched to everything being on the computer yet. It works for us though. We know our customers by name, many have been buying from us since my father’s time. Sometimes we just sit and have tea with them for an hour before even talking about business. That’s just the way things go at Shanti House. It’s not corporate, it’s just how we live and work. 380009 is our home base and we don't plan on moving. We just try to keep enough stock so people don't have to wait. It’s a simple business, really. We buy, we sell, and we try to keep the books balanced. Nothing too fancy or complicated about it.
