Chartered Accountan Mr Mahavir P Parakh

Down here in Jalgaon Khurd, life is a bit different than the big cities. I’m Mahavir P Parakh, and I’ve been doing the accounting work here in the Nandgaon taluka for quite some time. The office is situated in a quiet part of the Nashik district. It’s basically just a room with a sturdy table and enough shelf space for all the ledgers I have to keep track of. Most of the folks who come by are local farmers or shopkeepers who need help with their yearly filings. It’s not a high-tech setup, but it works for what we need. I usually start my day early before it gets too hot out. You can hear the sounds of the village while I’m working through the tax codes. Sometimes the internet is a bit slow, so things take longer than I’d like, but we manage. I’ve lived in Maharashtra all my life, so I know how people around here like to do business—face to face and with a bit of patience. There’s no big sign or anything, just the address at 423109 that everyone knows. It gets busy during the harvest time because that’s when everyone finally has a moment to check their books. I do my best to keep everything organized, though my filing cabinet is getting pretty full these days. It’s honest work and it keeps me connected to the community here in the village.
