Our place is tucked away in Ratan Pole, inside a spot called Sambhavnath Ni Khadki. If you know Ahmedabad, you know how narrow and winding these old lanes in Zaveriwad can be. It's a very traditional part of the city, and Viral Textiles has been operating out of here for quite some time. It is always crowded and noisy outside with people and scooters, but that’s just the way it is in the old market. We deal with textiles in a way that feels very local and direct. You can't even get a big vehicle down to our door, so we do a lot of heavy lifting and carrying by hand. The building we are in is quite old but it holds all our stock and serves us well. We see the same faces every single day, from the tea seller to the other shop owners. It’s a tight community. We don't use much fancy technology, just what we need to keep track of the cloth. The walls are thick, so it stays a little bit cooler inside when the Gujarat summer hits hard. We spend our mornings opening up the heavy doors and checking what needs to go out. There’s always someone stopping by to chat or ask about a specific material. It’s not a sterile or polished environment at all. There is dust and a lot of history in these walls. We handle various fabrics that people in this area have relied on for a long time. It’s a simple, honest way to live and work.
