Shilpan Homemade Crafts Producer Company Limited is located in Alkapuri, which is a nice part of Vadodara. We are on the ground floor at GF 8 in the Ivory Terrace building. We share some space or work alongside the MJM Business Centre there. It’s a comfortable spot to be in, and being on the ground floor makes it easy to move our crafts in and out without having to deal with elevators. Our focus is mainly on things people make by hand, so the office often smells like wood or cloth or whatever materials we are working with that week. It is a bit cluttered because we have a lot of different producers sending us their items. We try to keep it organized, but sometimes the boxes just stack up. The building itself is called Ivory Terrace, and it’s a fairly easy place for people to visit. We spend a lot of time talking to the different people who make these crafts. It’s a lot of coordination and checking on the quality of what comes in. We aren't a big corporate firm, just a group of people who appreciate things that are made at home. Most days we are just sitting at the desks or unpacking new shipments. It is a simple life and we like being in this part of town. There is a good small cafe nearby where we usually go to get our morning snacks.
