Shanti Fashion And Technologies Private is located over at Sailila Industrial Estate in the Udhna area. We actually take up both the ground floor and the first floor at plots 9 and 10. Having two levels helps because things can get pretty cramped when we have a lot of stuff moving in and out. Udhna is an industrial part of town, so there is always a lot of dust and trucks rumbling by outside. We started this place to handle both the fashion side and some technical bits, which is why the name is a bit of a mouthful. Most mornings start with unlocking the big gates and checking what needs to be finished from yesterday. It’s a plain building, nothing special to look at, but it’s sturdy. The staff usually brings their own lunch and we sit around the ground floor area when it’s quiet. Sometimes the power goes out in the estate, but we just wait it out. It’s not like those fancy offices you see in the city center. We deal with machines and fabric and computers all day. It gets hot in the afternoons, especially on the first floor, but we have some fans going. We just try to keep up with the schedule. It is mostly just hard work and making sure the technology side doesn’t crash while we are busy with the garments. The neighbors are mostly other industrial units, so we all just get along and mind our own business.
