Sevabhavi Jeev Daya Foundation

Sevabhavi Jeev Daya Foundation is located in one of the oldest parts of Ahmedabad. We are at 457 Dudhvali Pole in Gheekanta. If you aren't familiar with the old city, the poles are these narrow, winding lanes that have been around for generations. It’s a very different vibe from the rest of the city. There’s always someone walking by, kids playing, or cows wandering through the lanes. Our place is right in the heart of all that. It’s an old building, so the walls are thick and the rooms are a bit small, but it stays cool even when the sun is beating down on the city. We don’t have much in the way of modern office furniture. We use old wooden tables and stools. The neighborhood is very close-knit, so everyone knows the Sevabhavi Jeev Daya Foundation and what we do. It can be hard for cars to get down here, so most people just walk or use scooters. There’s a lot of history in these streets. We spend our days mostly dealing with the local community and the animals in the area, which is what we focus on. It’s noisy and crowded and sometimes a bit overwhelming with the smells of the market nearby, but it’s home for us. We wouldn’t want to be anywhere else. It feels like we are part of the actual fabric of the city here. It’s a very honest way to live and work.
