Our workplace is Shed No 17 in the Fortune Industrial Estate. It is part of the Vatva GIDC area, right near the Ramol Over Bridge. It’s a very industrial part of town, so there are always trucks and workers moving around. We work out of a shed, which sounds basic, but it’s actually quite a good space for what we do with diamonds. It gets hot under the roof in the summer, but we have some cooling. We spend our hours sorting through stones and making sure everything is where it should be. It’s not a place for customers to come and browse like a shop. It’s more of a production site. We’ve been here in Vatva for a while. The estate is busy and sometimes it's hard to find a parking spot near the shed, but we make it work. We don't have a fancy lobby or anyone to greet you at the door with a smile. It is mostly just us in our work clothes, focused on the task. We chose this spot because it's practical. Being near the overbridge helps with directions when people are trying to find the estate. We don’t go in for big speeches about what we do. We just come in, do the diamond work, and go home to our families. It’s a decent way to earn a living in this part of Gujarat.
