Olgreens Foundation

If you go up to the 12th floor of the Abhishree Adroit building, you will find Olgreens Foundation. We are located near Mansi Circle and the Swaminarayan Temple is just a short walk away from us in the Satellite area. It is a very crowded part of Ahmedabad, so the streets are always full of traffic. Up here on the 12th floor, it is a little bit quieter than the road below. We spend many hours looking at maps and figuring out where to plant more trees. People might think we have a whole forest inside our office, but it is just a few desks and some potted plants that we try to keep alive. The view from our window shows how fast the city is growing, which is the whole reason we work here. We are just a small group of people who keep an eye on the environmental changes in this neighborhood. Some days are just spent in meetings, while other days we are out on the streets near the temple. It gets very packed on festival days, so we have to plan our work around those schedules. The elevator in this building takes quite a long time, especially when everyone is going for lunch. We have gotten used to waiting for it. Our team is small, so the office feels empty when anyone goes out for field work. We just do our bit one day at a time without any big corporate structure behind us.
