You can find us at number 4 in the Nutan Cloth Market, which is just outside Raipur Gate in Ahmedabad. This part of the city is very old and always crowded with people buying and selling cloth. Our shop is just one of many in this area. It is a small space, packed with fabric samples and stacks of paper. We spend our days dealing with weavers and traders who come through the gate. It’s a noisy place with scooters buzzing by and people shouting out prices. We don't have a fancy showroom. We just have our wooden counters and some stools for guests. Sometimes we sit out front when it’s not too hot. We deal with texfab, which mostly means we are looking at weaves and thread counts all day long. Ahmedabad has a long history with cloth, and we are just a small part of that tradition. We don’t use any big marketing slogans. We just show the fabric to whoever asks. Most of our customers have been coming to us for years. We know their names and what they like. It’s a lot of repetitive work, measuring out lengths and writing receipts by hand. Sometimes we make mistakes and have to fix them, but that’s just how it goes when you’re busy. We like being near Raipur Gate because it feels like the heart of the cloth trade. It’s our second home, really.
