Jayashree Grocery & Dry Fruits Privatelimited

We are set up in Shop No. 08 at the Shivalik building on Sr No. 134/1. It’s a cozy little space, mostly because we have so many bags of dry fruits and grocery items crammed into every corner. The smell of almonds and spices is pretty strong when you first walk in. We spend a lot of our time sorting through the cashews and raisins, making sure there aren't any bad ones in the batch. It is tedious work that requires a lot of sitting and looking closely at the small stuff. The shop is on the ground floor, so we see everyone walking past to get to their apartments. We get a lot of people just popping in for a quick packet of something they forgot for dinner. The shelves are made of simple metal racks that we put together ourselves. Sometimes the shop feels a bit small when we get a new shipment of heavy sacks, and we have to shuffle things around just to find a place to stand. We don't have a big staff, just a couple of us who take turns watching the counter and cleaning the glass jars. It’s a lot of sweeping because the dry skins from the nuts seem to get everywhere. We aren't trying to be the biggest shop in town, just a reliable place where the neighbors can grab what they need. It’s a simple life, mostly spent weighing things and chatting with whoever comes through the door.
