Our office is tucked away in the Shree Ghantakarna Mahavir Commercial Market, right at unit J 23. It is right near the New Cloth Market in Sarangpur, so as you can imagine, it is incredibly busy all the time. Ahmedabad is known for this kind of hustle. You have to navigate through narrow lanes and dodge handcarts just to get to the door. Once you are inside our space, it is a bit more controlled, but the noise from the market never really stops. We handle a lot of fabric stuff here for Henitex Fabrics Llp. There are piles of samples everywhere and the phone rings pretty often. It is a very old-school commercial building with lots of different businesses packed in together. We know the chai wallah downstairs and most of the other shop owners on our floor. It is the kind of place where you learn to work fast. There isn’t much space for sitting around. We are usually busy checking invoices or looking over new stock that just arrived. The parking around here is a nightmare, so most of us just walk or take a rickshaw. It is a gritty, hardworking environment and we have been a part of it for quite some time now. It is not pretty, but it is where the real work happens in the city. We just keep our heads down and get the daily tasks finished before heading home.
