Finding us can be a bit of a challenge if you aren't used to the narrow poles in old Ahmedabad. Fashionchakra Private Limited is at 3335, Bhathiyara Ni Pole, right near the Shethiya building. Relief Road is always crowded with people and traffic, and Kadia Sheri is no different. It is an old part of the city with narrow lanes and lots of history in every brick. Our office is in one of these old buildings that has been around for decades. It has high ceilings and small windows that don't let in much light. The noise from the scooters and the shouting of vendors outside is constant, but you stop hearing it after working here for a week. We work with clothes and designs here, surrounded by stacks of paper and fabric samples. It is a bit disorganized if you just look at it, but we know exactly where everything is kept. We don't spend money on fancy paint or modern art for the walls. We spend our time talking to suppliers and checking the quality of the production work. Lunch is usually something bought from a nearby street stall because the food on Relief Road is actually great. We have a lot of regular people who come by because they’ve been dealing with us for a long time. It’s a very traditional way of doing things, really. We use old ledgers alongside the computers. It’s a bit cramped, but we wouldn’t want to be anywhere else.
