You can find us at Shop 2090 on the second floor of the Anupam Textile Market. We’re located in the Mithi Khadi area of Umarwada, which is right across from Sagar Market. If you’ve ever spent time in Surat, you know exactly how these textile markets are. It’s like a giant maze of small shops with rolls of fabric stacked up everywhere you look. We’ve been working out of this spot for a while now, dealing with all sorts of textiles and fabrics. Our shop isn't exactly huge, so we have to be pretty clever about how we use the space we have. There’s always people moving around in the hallways and the constant sound of metal trolleys being pushed across the floors. It’s a very hands-on kind of business. We spend a lot of our time checking the feel of different fabrics and making sure the colors match what was ordered. It’s not always the most glamorous work, and the market can get quite hot and stuffy in the middle of the afternoon when the air doesn't move much. But we actually like the energy of the whole place. We have our regular customers who drop by for a chat, and we’re always meeting new people from all across India who come to Surat looking for cloth. We don’t have a fancy website or some big marketing plan. We just open up, deal with our suppliers, and try to give people what they are looking for. It is simple.
