Our place is over at 29 New Haridham Society on U.M. Road in Udhana. Surat is a big city, and Udhana has its own rhythm that you get used to after a while. We’ve been here for a bit now, just working away in the construction business. It’s a lot of physical work and a lot of planning that doesn't always go according to plan, to be honest. We have a small office where we keep all the blueprints and an old computer that sometimes acts up when we are in a hurry. We aren't some big corporation with branches everywhere. We are just local people. Sometimes we have to stay late because a concrete pour took way longer than expected. It’s part of the deal. We see a lot of people coming and going in this society. It’s a decent neighborhood to work out of. We don’t have any fancy brochures or anything. Most people find us through word of mouth or because they saw our sign somewhere. We try to be honest about how long things take. It’s better to say it’ll be a month and have it done than to promise something we can’t actually do. The weather in Surat can be a real pain during the monsoon season, which slows everything down to a crawl. We just wait it out and get back to it when the sun finally comes out. It’s a straightforward life. We just build things and try to do a decent job.
