Dtc Texcoat is based out of the G.I.D.C. in Pandesara. We have quite a bit of space here because our operations cover plots 44, 45, 46, 47, and 48. In an industrial area like Surat City, you are always surrounded by the sound of machines and the smell of chemicals. We do fabric coating, which is a messy and loud process but it is what we know how to do. The facility isn't pretty to look at. It is just a series of large sheds with workers coming in and out in shifts. We spend a lot of time monitoring the machines and making sure the coating is even. It’s physical work and your clothes usually end up ruined by the end of the week. Most of us have been in this industry for years, so the noise doesn't even bother us anymore. We take our breaks together and talk about the news or the cricket scores. Logistics can be a headache since the roads in Pandesara are often blocked by big lorries. We just try to get our orders out on time without too much fuss. There isn't any secret to what we do, it’s just showing up and making sure the process runs right. We aren't trying to change the world, just trying to keep the business steady and the machines running until closing time.
