Being near the Girdharnagar Bridge means there is a constant stream of cars and motorbikes passing by below us. The building itself is full of different shops and offices, so there is always a lot of movement in the hallways. Inside our space, it is mostly just stacks of garments and people working at their stations. We don't have a lot of bells and whistles. The windows look out toward the circle, and sometimes it is nice to just watch the traffic for a minute when taking a breather. The air conditioning works most of the time, which is a blessing in the middle of an Ahmedabad summer. We have a lot of stuff shoved into the cabinets and the desks are usually messy with thread and scissors. It is a tight-knit group here, and we all know each other's families and what is going on in our lives. We don't spend money on fancy furniture because we'd rather have better machines. It is a bit noisy because of the location, but being in the middle of the city makes it easy for the workers to get here. We usually close up late and the lights of the bridge are quite bright when we leave.
