AKHAND ANAND WEAVES FOUNDATION

Our place is down in Surat, specifically in the Pipodara area of Mangrol. We have these plots from 527 to 531 at the GF Radhe building. Akhand Anand Weaves Foundation is basically where all the weaving stuff happens. It’s a noisy place with the machines running, but that is how it goes in Surat. We spend most of our mornings checking the looms and seeing if the patterns are coming out right. It’s a lot of manual work and keeping an eye on the threads. The ground floor location makes it easier for the trucks to pull up and load the finished rolls of cloth. Sometimes it gets dusty and the heat in the summer is no joke, but we just keep the fans going and stay busy. We aren't a huge corporate office with glass walls, just a workspace where we get the job done. People around Pipodara know us as the weaving guys. We have been working out of these plots for a bit now. There is always someone coming in to check on a batch or drop off some raw materials. It’s just honest work with fabrics. We don't have any big speeches about what we do, we just weave and send it out. Most of the guys here have been doing this for years, so we know the machines pretty well by now. We usually have our lunch sitting near the back where it is a little quieter. That’s our life here at the foundation.
