Around here in Amirgadh, things move at their own pace. We are based out of Gamabhai Jagabhai’s spot in Garasiya, right in the heart of Banaskantha. Ajapalak Goat Farming Producer Company Limited isn't some big office thing; it is just us working with goats every day. People in this part of Gujarat know that goats are tough and they get us through. We spend a lot of time checking on the herds and making sure everyone is doing their part in the producer group. It gets pretty dusty out here, but that is just how it is. We are not trying to be fancy or anything like that. The goats need a lot of attention, from what they eat to where they sleep at night. Being a producer company means we all sort of look out for each other. Sometimes the weather is hard on the animals, so we have to stay on our toes. You can find us near Shri Amirgadh if you are passing through. It is a simple setup, mostly just sheds and some open space for the animals to move around. We have been doing this for a while now, and it feels right to keep things local. If you know the area, you know it’s not always easy, but we manage. There is always someone around the Garasiya area if there is work to be done. We just keep our heads down and focus on the livestock and the community we live in.
