Bijal Motors is right there in Sukhram Chambers, opposite Narayan Nagar. Being near Khodiyar Nagar Char Rasta and the N H No 8 highway means we see a lot of people passing through Bapunagar every single day. It’s a dusty part of town because of all the trucks and cars on the main road, so we’re always cleaning the front of the shop. We deal with motors and vehicle parts mostly. It’s the kind of place where you’ll find us wearing overalls that have seen a lot of oil stains. The shop floor is usually busy, with parts laid out and someone always looking for a specific tool. We don’t have a fancy waiting room with a television or anything like that. People usually just stand around and talk while we work on their stuff. It’s a very local vibe. We know the shopkeepers nearby and we often grab lunch from the stalls down the street. Working near the highway has its challenges, like the constant noise, but it keeps us busy. We don’t try to be anything we aren't. We just fix what needs fixing and try to keep things moving. There’s a lot of grit and sweat involved in this job, but we’ve been doing it for years now. The signage is simple and the interior is practical. We usually have a box of old rags sitting near the entrance because someone always needs to wipe their hands. We use a small notebook for daily tasks and scribbled notes to keep everything on track.
