Vohra Nursing Home

Vohra Nursing Home sits at number 4 on Kheria Road in the Laxman Nagar Industrial Estate. Since we are in an industrial area, the surroundings are mostly warehouses and small factories. It is not the most scenic part of town, but it is where we are needed. The building is a sturdy, two-story structure with a bit of a plain concrete finish. Inside, things are kept very simple. We have high ceilings and large windows that let in a lot of light, though the view is mostly of the trucks passing by on Kheria Road. The ward rooms have basic iron beds and small bedside lockers for the patients' things. We don't have any fancy art on the walls, just a few notices and a calendar. The staff wears plain uniforms and they stay pretty busy with the constant intake of people from the nearby worksites. Sometimes the power goes out in this area, so we have a generator that kicks in with a loud rumble. The floor is made of grey stone that stays cool underfoot. We have a small garden area in the back, but it’s mostly just a few potted plants and a patch of grass where people can sit for a minute. It’s a practical place built for a practical purpose. We operate 24 hours a day, so there is always someone awake and moving around the halls, even in the middle of the night.
