It’s a noisy place because we are often cutting things or loading them onto the back of a truck. The air smells a bit like metal and sometimes there’s a lot of dust from the road. Being near a petrol pump means there is a constant stream of cars and bikes going past all day. We have been working out of this spot for a long time. It’s not a fancy showroom; it’s a workshop where we actually get our hands dirty. We have saws and drills and all kinds of tools lying around on the benches. Usually, the door is wide open so we can get some air in while we work. The heat from the Bodla Sikandra Road can be tough in the summer months, but we just keep a fan going and keep moving. We don't spend much time on the computer or doing paperwork if we can help it. Most of our day is spent measuring things or fixing frames. It’s a simple life at Vikas Glass House & Aluminium Work. We start when the sun comes up and we don’t stop until the light starts to fade away. It’s just how we do things here, day after day.
