Vijay Nagar Hospital

Our hospital is over at 45 Old Vijay Nagar Colony in Agra. It’s an older part of town, so the buildings have that lived-in look and the trees are quite big and shade the street. Being in an old colony means we know a lot of the families who live nearby. They’ve been coming to us for years, and now they bring their kids and grandkids too. The hospital isn't one of those glass and steel buildings you see in the newer parts of the city. It’s a sturdy brick place with high ceilings and fans that spin around all day long to keep the air moving. In the summer, Agra gets incredibly hot, so we spend a lot of time making sure the coolers are topped up with water. Our hallways are usually filled with the sound of people talking and the occasional cart rolling by. We have a small garden area out front that we try to keep green, though the dust makes it a struggle sometimes. The staff here works hard, often staying past their shift if someone needs extra help. We don't have a big corporate office or a board of directors; it’s just us and the doctors making decisions as things come up. It’s a bit old-fashioned in some ways, with paper files and handwritten notes, but it works for us and the people who live in the colony. We just keep the doors open and do our bit.
