C-20 Site-C in the Upsidc Industrial Area is our location. Being out here in Sikandra means there are trucks and noise everywhere you turn. Transformers and electrical parts are what we work on all day long. The concrete floor usually has some oil spots, and we always wear heavy boots for safety. Metal is constantly being moved around, so you have to be careful where you walk. In the summer, the shed gets really hot, but some big fans help move the air around a bit. We’ve been out here in this industrial zone for a long time. Our guys on the floor know their way around a coil better than anyone else in the area. Suits and fancy offices aren't part of our setup at all. We stay in our overalls and usually have grease on our hands from the machines. When the power goes out nearby, we are often busy trying to fix the equipment as fast as we can. Taking components apart and putting them back together is the bulk of the work we do. It can be frustrating when new parts take a long time to arrive. We just try to keep the machines running the best we can with what we have. Heavy lifting and checking gauges is just part of the daily routine. The coffee is usually cold, but we don't mind it much. Getting the job done so we can go home is what matters.
