Tomar Departmental Store

If you go to Hanuman Mandir Chowk at Langre Ki Chowki in Agra, you will see our store right there. It’s a very old area and the streets are quite narrow, so things can feel a bit cramped. We have a lot of stuff packed into this departmental store, from household cleaners to pulses and grains. Every morning is a rush to get things organized before the crowd from the temple starts moving around. We spend a lot of time counting items and making sure nothing has gone past its date. The building is old and has high ceilings, which helps keep it a bit cooler during the harsh Agra summers. We have a couple of helpers who are always scurrying around moving boxes. The floor is made of old stone and it’s seen a lot of feet over the years. We don't use any fancy software for our work; we just have a small desk with a lot of loose papers and a calculator. It can get very dusty because of the wind and the traffic, so we are always wiping down the containers. It’s a noisy place to work because of the bells and the people, but we are used to it by now. We don't have any big plans to change things. We just keep doing the same work every day, serving the local families who have been coming to us for years.
