Shri Ghovind Provision Store

Shri Ghovind Provision Store is our little business on Alwatiya Road in the Shah Ganj area of Agra. Most people around here know us because we are right by the Shaker Ghar Ki Puliya. It’s a provision store, so we mostly focus on the basic things people need for their kitchens, like flour, pulses, and spices. The shop is in the 282010 zip code, and it’s a place where things are often piled up high because we don't have a lot of floor space. Every morning, we spend time opening up the new crates and checking what we need to order. There is always a bit of dust coming in from the road, so we are constantly cleaning the counters. We don't use any fancy computers to keep track of what we sell. We just know what's in stock by looking at the shelves. It’s a very simple and hands-on way to work. When the power goes out, which happens sometimes, we just use a torch to find what the customer is looking for. We’ve been here for many years and have seen the neighborhood change quite a bit. The people who come in aren't just customers; many of them have become friends over time. We don't have any big plans to expand or do advertisements. We just open up the shop every morning and wait for the regulars. It’s a straightforward life, and we are happy with how things are.
