Shree Ram Carpets

Our place is located at 9/624, right on Mahadev Gali just off Motikatra Road. Shree Ram Carpets has been tucked away in this little lane for a very long time now. If you come by to visit, you will see piles of rugs and carpets stacked up everywhere. It is a bit cramped inside the building because we try to fit as much stock as possible into the rooms. The air always smells a bit like raw wool and maybe some of the dyes we use for the patterns. It is not a fancy showroom with bright lights; it is more of a working space where we store and check every piece. The street outside is very narrow, so getting large deliveries in and out can be a real struggle for the drivers sometimes. We have a few guys who spend their whole day unrolling carpets for people to see and then rolling them back up again. It is heavy, tiring work. We do not use any fancy computer systems for tracking our inventory, mostly just old notebooks and our own memory. Sometimes we might lose track of a specific pattern for a minute, but we always find it eventually. People in the neighborhood know us well. We just do our thing, day in and day out. There is always a pot of tea being made in the back room. It is a simple operation, really. We just focus on the carpets.
