Our company, Shivam Chemicals And Minerals Ltd., is located at 3/220 in Roshan Mahulla. It’s an older part of the neighborhood and our building reflects that style. We deal with various chemicals and mineral products, so the warehouse floor is often covered in a bit of white dust from the raw materials we handle. It’s a very hands-on kind of place to work. We don’t have a reception desk or a fancy lobby for people to wait in. If you come by to see us, you’ll probably find the staff in the back checking the heavy bags or talking to the truck drivers about their routes. The space is quite cramped because we try to keep as much stock on hand as possible for our regulars. We spend a lot of time checking the weights and making sure the handwritten labels are correct. The lighting is a bit dim in some of the back corners, but we know where every single item is kept. We aren’t really into the whole corporate culture thing. We prefer just getting the work done and heading home to our families. Most of our customers are local manufacturers who have been buying their supplies from us for many years now. We don't have a sales team that goes out to find new clients; word of mouth has always been enough to keep us going. The Mahulla is a tight-knit place and we feel like we belong.
