Sayyed Ladies Corner

If you are walking around Kinari Bazar Chouraha in Agra, you will find us right there. The shop isn't very large, but we fit a lot into the space. It’s mostly things for the local ladies, like bangles, clips, and other small items they need. Agra can get really crowded, especially in this market area, so there is always a lot of chatter outside our door. Being at the chouraha means there is movement all day long. We open up in the morning and start dusting off the counters. Kinari Bazar has a specific feel to it, very old and traditional. We’ve stayed here because it’s where everyone comes to shop. The inventory changes depending on what’s available or what people are asking for lately. Sometimes we run out of a specific color of thread or a certain type of bindi, and we have to wait for the next delivery. It’s just me and a couple of others helping out. We don’t have a big corporate setup. It’s more about knowing which drawer has the safety pins and which one has the ribbons. The shop is a bit cramped when three or four people come in at once, but we manage. People know us by name around here. It’s just a plain ladies' corner in a busy part of town. We’ve been at 282001 for a long time and do not plan on moving anywhere else soon.
