This flour mill is over on Kachaura Road, right by the Sainik Vihar Colony. It’s officially listed under Phool Shri Yadav’s name. Working in a flour mill means you are always surrounded by a fine white dust, and you just get used to it after a while. The machines are loud and they vibrate through the floor, but that’s the sound of work getting done. We don't have a big corporate structure or a bunch of executives in suits. It’s just us and the rollers. We spend our time checking the grain quality and making sure the grind is just right. Kachaura Road can get quite busy with tractors and trucks, but we are used to the noise. We don’t have any big marketing plans or colorful brochures to show people. We just rely on the fact that people need flour and they know where to get it. Sometimes a belt snaps or a bearing gets too hot, and we have to stop everything to fix it. It’s a hands-on job that doesn’t leave much time for sitting around. We try to keep the area around Sainik Vihar Colony tidy, though it’s hard with all the loading and unloading. We are just regular people doing a regular job in a part of town we know well. It’s not a complicated story, just a lot of hard work and many bags of flour.
