Ramesh General Store

Ramesh runs the place, mostly sitting behind the counter from morning till late. It's a busy spot in the Main Market here in Agra at Kheriya Mod Chauraha. We have been here for a good while now. People come in for all sorts of small things they need at home. We stock everything from soap bars to tea leaves and snacks for the kids. The shop isn't fancy or anything. It’s just a regular place where you can find what you forgot to buy earlier in the day. Sometimes the traffic at the chauraha gets really loud and messy, but we are used to it by now. We know most of the people who walk in by their names because they live right around the corner. If you need a quick phone recharge or just a packet of biscuits, we probably have it sitting on a shelf somewhere. The shelves are a bit crowded and dusty at times, but we know where everything is kept. It’s just how a neighborhood store works around here. We open up pretty early because the morning rush starts fast with people going to work. Nothing special, just a shop for the daily stuff. Most days are busy, especially when the schools let out and the kids come running for candy. We just keep things moving and make sure the change is right. That is how we spend our days.
