R. K Engineering Works

The shop is located in Foundry Nagar, right over in Shobha Nagar where things are always moving. If you walk inside, you’ll probably hear the machines before you see anyone. It’s a bit of a greasy place, but that is just how engineering work goes when you are dealing with metal all day long. We have been in this spot for years and the walls have seen a lot of projects come and go. The floor is usually covered in metal shavings and there’s always a project sitting on the workbench half-finished. Our guys wear overalls that never really stay clean no matter how much they get washed. We don't have a fancy waiting room or anything like that. Usually, if someone comes by, they just stand near the entrance and talk to us over the noise of the lathes. Foundry Nagar is a busy area and we fit right in with the other shops around here. We spend a lot of time measuring things and making sure the parts fit like they are supposed to. Sometimes we stay late when a big job needs to get out the door. It is honest work and it keeps us busy from Monday to Saturday. The tea guy comes around twice a day and that’s usually when we take a real break. Otherwise, it’s just the sound of tools and the smell of oil in the air. We keep the machines oiled up and just get on with the day's tasks as they come.
