Prabhat General Store

Prabhat General Store is situated in the Main Market of Barhan, which is part of the Agra area. We have been operating from this same spot for many years now. The store is filled with all the everyday essentials like spices, cooking oil, and household cleaners. We also keep some stationery and small toys for the children who come by after school. The shop is a bit of a tight fit with all the wooden racks and glass jars lining the walls. We don't have a lot of space for people to walk around inside, so we usually just stand behind the counter and fetch what people ask for. The street outside is usually busy with people going to and from the market, so there is a lot of movement and noise all day long. We start our day early to receive the fresh bread and other daily items that come in. Sometimes the rain leaks in a little bit near the front door during the monsoon, but we just put down some gunny bags to keep the floor dry. We don't have any big plans to expand or change things. We like the way the shop is and how we know almost everyone who walks in by their first name. It is a simple business run by people who understand what the local families need. We just keep doing our work and making sure we don't run out of the basic things.
