Patiram Manoj Kumar General Store

This shop has been in Hanuman Nagar for quite a while now. Patiram Manoj Kumar General Store is located at 46/11/24 in the Jagdish Pura area of Agra, and it is a fairly quiet spot compared to the main tourist parts of the city. My name is on the sign along with my brother's, and we take turns sitting at the counter. We sell basic groceries, things like spices, pulses, and household cleaning supplies. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but we never seem to find the time to get it done. Most of our day is spent weighing out items or chatting with the ladies from the neighborhood who come in for their kitchen supplies. Agra gets incredibly hot in May and June, so the shop feels like a bit of a shelter for us during the day. We have a small radio that plays the news or some old songs while we work. The inventory is kept in the back room and on the high shelves that I need a ladder to reach. It is not a very big operation, just enough to keep the family going. We see the same people every day, and we know exactly what they are going to ask for before they even speak. It is a simple way to make a living, and we are used to the rhythm of this street in Agra by now.
