Pallavi And Madhvi Pickles & Foods Llp is based at 135 M K Puram, in the Vishwakarma Enclave of Avas Vikas, Agra. We started this because we both had a knack for making pickles and it seemed like a good idea to turn it into a real business. We are an LLP, which is just a fancy way of saying we are partners in this food venture. Our space is filled with jars and the smell of vinegar and spices most of the time. It is a very traditional process, so there is a lot of waiting for things to marinate and set properly. We do not use big industrial machines for everything; a lot of it is still done by hand because that is how you get the flavor right. Avas Vikas is a residential area, so we are part of the local fabric here. People stop by sometimes just to see what we are working on. We have a few helpers who help with the chopping and the packing of the jars. It is a lot of work to keep up with the different seasons for fruits and vegetables. When mango season hits, we are busy from morning till night. We do not have a big marketing budget or anything like that. We just rely on the fact that people in Agra like good pickles. We are just two people and a small team trying to make decent food products.
