Om Blow Plast

If you walk down Arjun Nagar near No. 58/128, you’ll find us at Om Blow Plast. The place smells a bit like melting plastic, which is something you get used to after a week or two. We mostly deal with blow molding here. It’s a hot job, especially during the summer months when the machines are running full tilt. We make all sorts of plastic items, mostly containers and bottles that people need for their own small businesses. The Ayoudhya Kunj area is quite busy, so there’s always trucks coming and going. We started out with just one old machine that used to break down every other day. Now we have a few more, and things run a bit smoother, though there’s still plenty of maintenance to do. My brother and I usually handle the floor while a couple of helpers pack the finished goods into large bags. It’s not the cleanest environment, with plastic scraps often littering the floor until we sweep up at night. We don’t do big advertising or anything fancy. Mostly, people just know we’re here in the lane. We spend our mornings checking the molds and making sure the plastic beads are fed correctly into the hoppers. It’s repetitive work, but it keeps us busy. Sometimes a customer comes in with a specific shape they need, and we see if our machines can handle it. It’s just a practical way to make a living in a crowded city and keep things moving forward.
