Netra Jyoti Kendra

If you are looking for us, we are right near Shree Talkies at 165 Nehru Nagar. The movie theater is a good landmark because everyone knows it. Our place, Netra Jyoti Kendra, is a steady spot where we spend our days looking at eyes. The waiting area is usually full of people waiting for their turn. Some are there for new glasses and others just have itchy eyes from the dust outside. Nehru Nagar is a busy area, so there is always a lot of noise from the street coming through the front windows. We have those charts on the wall with the letters that get smaller at the bottom. The equipment we use is a bit heavy, so we don't move it around much. We have a few assistants who help with the eye drops and making sure people don't trip in the darker exam rooms. It’s a regular routine of checking vision and writing out notes in the files. The paint in the lobby is starting to peel a little in the corners, but it doesn't bother anyone. We aren't trying to be a fancy clinic; we just want to make sure people can see where they are going. Most afternoons we have a bit of a rush before the sun goes down. It’s an honest day’s work and we’ve been doing it at this location for quite some time now.
