Manglam Kirana

Manglam Kirana is our small shop sitting right in Shyam Ganj, very close to the Allahabad Bank. People around here know us because we’ve been in this spot for quite a while now. It is a typical kirana store where we stock all the basic things you might need for your kitchen or house. We get our supplies from different places and try to keep enough on hand so nobody goes away disappointed. The bank nearby brings a lot of foot traffic past our door, so it stays fairly active throughout the day. I usually spend most of my time behind the counter or moving bags around in the back. It’s not a very big space, but we make use of every corner we have. Sometimes the deliveries arrive late, which makes the morning a bit stressful, but we manage to get through it. My brother helps me out when he is not busy with other things. We don't really have a big team or anything, just us keeping the place running. The floor needs a sweep pretty often because of the dust from the street. We just focus on keeping the bins full and the bags ready for whoever walks in. It’s simple work, but it keeps us busy from morning to night. If you’re ever near the bank in Shyam Ganj, you can’t really miss our entrance and the sacks piled up inside.
